TRUTH IN THE COURTROOM
Require meaningful examination of evidence before long-term restrictions are imposed, while preserving emergency protection. Establish consequences for knowingly fabricated evidence or testimony, not simply an allegation that wasn’t proven.
PROTECT CHILDREN’S SAFE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS
Prevent unnecessary, prolonged separation from safe parents. Require workable visitation plans, affordable supervision when needed, prompt review of canceled visits and appropriate makeup time. Protection from actual abuse must remain central.
JUSTICE REGARDLESS OF WEALTH
Make transcripts, evidence, legal assistance and appeals accessible. Require timely hearings and clear written reasons for decisions. A parent’s ability to be heard should not depend on who can afford the longest court battle.
ACCOUNTABILITY AND A PATH TO REPAIR
Provide independent review of alleged misconduct by judges, attorneys and other court professionals. When fraud or serious error is established, provide a practical process to revisit affected orders, correct records, consider fee recovery or compensation, and safely repair damaged family relationships. This must include cases where an injunction was already granted, not just petitions denied at the outset.
